Leaving SFO

Leaving SFO, originally uploaded by LubaSF.

No matter where I travel, leaving SFO is always an adventure, but coming home always makes my heart flutter anew. It’s always fun to get away, but it always warms my heart to come back. See you Monday, San Francisco!

xoxoxoxo :-)

Blue Skies in the Dogpatch

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Blue Skies in the Dogpatch, originally uploaded by LubaSF.

The City feels like it always should during the summer – foggy, overcast, cold and windy. But Potrero Hill’s Dogpatch district, always the exception to the rule – blue skies!!! And while not exactly warm and still somewhat breezy, the weather here defnitely has less "bite" than the rest of the City right now.

I’ve lived in SF my whole life, and I’ll always agree with Mark Twain, "The coldest winter I spent was a summer in San Francisco." But, I’ll still always love it here. It is, after all, HOME!

The House of Love

The House of Love, originally uploaded by LubaSF.

Someone wrote a song once about the House of the Rising Sun. Well, this isn’t it, but I’ve been told it’s called The House of Love (on Fulton at Masonic.)

It’s quite a sight, the whole thing is surrounded with plants. Kind of refreshing to see a little bit of eclectic SF scattered in the City!

San Francisco’s Ocean Beach

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

San Francisco’s Ocean Beach, originally uploaded by LubaSF.

The beach as seen from the Outer Richmond district.

Have to say, I’m having one of those days where I fall in love with SF’s nook and cranny all over again.

I just drove down Balboa Street and was reminded of all my old haunts from when I grew up… the Balboa Theater, Chino’s Taqueria and even St. Thomas Apostle school where I spent my pre-teen years learning to diagram sentences.

Sometimes I’m so busy that I forget how much I don’t just love San Francisco, but am actually in love with it. Glad to be reminded of that love affair today.

San Francisco’s Baker Beach

San Francisco’s Baker Beach, originally uploaded by LubaSF.

With the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance, even on a foggy day, the view looking over Baker Beach is incredible.
