I was there on Sunday (8/31)...it wasn't windy at all. And it wasn't even very crowded, since it was Labor Day wknd and everyone was out of town (or the natives were at Burning Man). I LOVE LOVE LOVE SF on holiday weekends--sometimes SF is a "suitcase" town. It's best to stay here and take advantage of having (almost) the whole city at your disposal (even Market Street was shut down, for a brief period, that day). I took off my shirt (I was wearing a sports bra, so it's kosher) and got some sun (but SF makes me sun-phobic and I got a rash). Lots of tour buses drove by to see the "full house" painted ladies. It was a beautiful day and I never realized there were tennis courts in that park--I'm ready to be challenged to a match!!). Alamo Square Park's got a great view of SF (on a clear day-as per usual). Whenever one of those painted ladies is on the market, I want to buy one (pending I inherit about 10 million dollars). You will be my agent, of course!
